Kokopelli and the ant People
This Program relates the story of legendary Native American deity Kokopelli . Mesmerized by Kokopelli's haunting flute music and calmed by the thumping of the drum in his belly, the naive Ant People follow Kokopelli out of the Dark World through four layers of other worlds until they reach the Green World, where sunlight "shriveled their underground skins" and they become the First People. Along the way, they learn about growing food, getting along with others, and respecting elders, which enables them to survive and flourish in their new environment. Wolfs Robe will take listeners on this magical journey playing his own flutes as he goes while teaching about this mythical South West figure. (Teachers) Before this program it would be a good idea to share with students some history of the South West and the ancient peoples of the regions.
This Program is designed for Grades. 3-5.
