Wolfs Robe

Wolf Clan Flutes
presents
The Grandfather
Wolfs Robe was taught the art of Traditional flute making by a fourth generation Blackfeet flute maker in 1984 and is pleased to introduce his style to the public to enjoy,Commonly known as “Grandfather” tuned flutes they represent the Traditional ways of this instrument. The pictures below will explain just what Traditional/Grandfather tuning is all about. You do not need to know how to read sheet music. These flutes are not in a Western scale; they are tuned perfectly for Nature “just the way they were long ago”. Made from cedar, these are well-balanced flutes; you do not need much breath to play them and they are not too loud and are easy to handle. Measuring approximately 26 inches long, these flutes are sure to please. The carved guides on each side of the “block” or effigy ensure that when the effigy is tied on, it will remain straight. The flute also has a chimney at the sound hole carved into the effigy to help block any wind that might interfere with the air going over the sound hole if played outside. Again please take a look at the pictures below and listen to the sound sample of this beautiful instrument.

The Feather Flute

The Feather Flute is still a Cedar Grandfather Flute but with some added designs. 4 inlaid Turquoise cabochons, wood burned rings representing the 4 directions and hand wood burned feathers give this grandfather the finishing touch it deserves.

Wolfs Robe uses mostly the white wood of the Cedar when making these Feather Flutes. Most of the Cedar Wolfs Robe receives is the rusty red wood that he makes the Grandfather flutes from sometimes the more white woods are harder to come by. Since the white wood is limited, you should E-mail for availability before ordering ( akafluteman@akaflutemanent.com ) you should receive a response within 24hrs.

NOTE: it can be up to a 3 week wait depending on work load.
